The Body Knows: Structure, Sensation & Stillness
with Prashant Tewatia
25 Jan 2026 - 1 Feb 2026
What if your body already held the answers?
This immersive week at Ashiyana is an invitation to come home—to your breath, your structure, your sensations, and your stillness. Blending the precision of classical alignment-based yoga with the intuitive language of fascia, barefoot movement, and energy work, this retreat is crafted to restore your inner intelligence and ground you in the present moment.
English
Rooted in over 15 years of teaching and living at Ashiyana, Prashant brings a unique mix of deep anatomical knowledge, subtle body work, and lived experience of Goa itself. His approach blends structured classical asana (Iyengar-style), fascial release, Tai Chi, Qigong, and somatic practices—designed to meet both beginner practitioners and advanced movers with equal care and curiosity.
Beyond the mat, you’ll also experience Goa through the eyes of someone who knows it inside out—from secret sunset spots and sacred beaches to ecstatic dance events and hidden cafés. This retreat is not just about deepening your practice—it’s about reconnecting with life in all its rhythm and richness.
This retreat is ideal for:
- Yoga practitioners seeking more depth, structure, and embodiment
- Teachers or trainees wanting inspiration and somatic clarity
- Professionals who need a full-body reset
- People who want to experience Goa authentically, not just tour it

INSTRUCTORS
Prashant Tewatia
Prashant Tewatia has been a pillar of the Ashiyana teaching team for over 15 years. Known for his clear eyes, calming voice, and vintage glasses, he’s one of those rare teachers who can break down the architecture of a pose while still reminding you to breathe, feel, and be.
Originally from Haryana, Prashant’s journey began in childhood, watching his grandfather hold long headstands and quietly perform morning kriyas—early imprints that shaped his lifelong connection to yoga. After studying in Ireland, he returned to India to train intensively in classical yoga, studying with senior Iyengar teachers across the country and completing a yoga therapy certification in Pune.
His teaching is rooted in alignment, but never rigid. Influenced by somatics, fascial release, Tai Chi, and barefoot movement, his sessions are crafted to help students rediscover their body’s intelligence—balancing structure with softness, effort with ease.
At Ashiyana, Prashant leads retreats, drop-in classes, and teacher training with a rare blend of technical depth, embodied wisdom, and lightness of spirit. Students often say his classes feel both grounding and expansive—like returning to something they didn’t know they’d lost.
When he’s not teaching, you’ll find him walking barefoot on the beach, sipping strong black coffee, or quietly observing the world—always learning, always refining, always curious.
