English
This retreat welcomes a small group of like-minded individuals eager to learn new techniques and understand the science behind their conditions. With the support of psycho-education, psychotherapy, and yoga therapy, you will gain the tools to move beyond chronic limitations.
By deepening your emotional connection with yourself, embracing your natural surroundings, fostering social bonds within the group, and exploring movement and mind, you will expand your lived experiences and break free from restrictive patterns.
The retreat will:
- Incorporate new psychological techniques.
- Use yoga techniques, introducing movement into your life to help you gain more freedom from the pain that has limited you in the past.
- Improve your energy and enjoy the benefits of social connectivity on your emotional and physical wellbeing.
- Help you understand past trauma in your life that has contributed to your current condition.
The psychological input and physical movement of the yoga and breathing will help you find a new way of being, allowing you to feel safe within your body and in your emotional ‘adult’ self. Opportunities for 1:2:1 guidance will help you gain personal insight into your transformational journey. The education provided will help you cope better within the unpredictable world.
Guided meditations and visualisations will bring a sense of peace and inner tranquility, allowing you to become calm and centred in the beautiful surroundings of the Guilleries Mountains. This will enable you to reconnect with your feelings, grow in confidence throughout the week, and take home a new perspective on life and living.

INSTRUCTORS
Lucy
My background
I am Lucy, a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with the BACP and also a qualified practitioner with SIRPA (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners Association). I have been working as a psychotherapist for 21 years, and my experience with chronic pain and conditions has enriched my work. This is especially true because I have personal experience with the journey through and out of chronic pain.
I’ve lived your life
After multiple failed back surgeries during my career as a professional athlete, I found my way out of pain (and realized many of the surgeries were probably unnecessary) through psychological methods and education on how chronic pain develops and persists. This “eureka” moment, when I realized I could control my pain, inspired me to help others and develop my practice in this direction, which eventually led to this retreat.
Why what I do works
I start by gathering a comprehensive history of the client, including all medical tests and results. Together, we explore past traumas, personality traits, and family history that could contribute to chronic stress building up in the body, which manifests as a chronic condition. I use a variety of techniques—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—to release the power these elements have over the stress in your system. Psychoeducation is also an essential part of my approach to help clients understand why these techniques work and why practice and repetition are crucial. This is a lifelong journey, not just a week.
What makes me, me
Outside of my work, I enjoy sea swimming (in the English Channel!), Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, going to the theatre, and walking my dachshund by the sea in the early mornings to start my day.
Mel
My background
Having trained in Ashtanga Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Pranayama, Thai Yoga Massage, and Energy Medicine, my approach is based on core principles designed to support creative, active decision-makers on their self-healing journey. Over 24 years, I’ve evolved from a practitioner to the founder of Clarity Yoga Shala, creating a variety of supporting programs delivered to residential homes and individuals recovering from addiction and illness. I also provide training and mentoring.
Who I support
My clients often seek help to break free from the risk of inheriting hereditary illnesses. Others recognize that physical trauma is the result of a conflict between their environment and internal values. I also work with people undergoing critical life transitions, whether personal or professional, helping them maintain their integrity, stamina, and perspective. Many of the stories I hear are truly heart-wrenching.
Why what I do works
My core approach is based on the 5-element theory from Ayurveda, the first science of health, which examines how the elements of nature interact with each other. Thai Massage provides an energetic map of the prana, chi, or life force flowing through the body, while Yoga Movement keeps the energy channels (or meridians) free-flowing. All of this is supported by conscious breathing, or Pranayama, which extends life force energy. With this approach, I create a unique plan for each person, bringing harmony between their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Most people feel stronger, clearer, and lighter as they learn to navigate life’s draining challenges, often finding confidence in their personal truth.
What makes me, me
I’m passionate about creativity in all its forms. I love fashion (I’ve been featured in the V&A), enjoy good comedy, and appreciate travel.
