Pip
Pip came to Yoga around 10 years ago whilst recovering from injuries acquired from running and cycling, and instantly found the practice physically beneficial. Then, during a particularly challenging year, Pip went deeper into her practice and connected more to the mental and emotional benefits of Yoga and meditation. Coming from a medical background in Cancer Care, Pip has always had a keen interest in the connection between the physical and psychological aspects of health, wellbeing and recovery.
First visiting Ashiyana as a guest in 2014, Pip joined the Ashiyana Family in 2016 when she completed her 200hr Teacher Training with us in Goa. Since then, she has been teaching in her hometown of Brighton, U.K., and at her second home in India.
Pip's classes are generally Hatha/Vinyasa-based Yoga. She has also completed a Yin Yoga training and offers this style of class on occasion, along with Restorative, Yoga Nidra and guided meditations.
When not on her mat, Pip can usually be found plotting her next adventure. She has swum the English Channel and cycled the coast of Great Britain, amongst other challenges. Being active and outdoors is her most effective meditation.
Pip is also Ashiyana's chief animal lover. You will often find at least one of our Ashi Dogs following her around the retreat centre. She has been a volunteer at Welfare for Animals in Goa (WAG) rescue centre for several seasons, and through this connection it is now one of the local charities that Ashiyana supports.
